The EAA Pilsen 2013 Annual Meeting local Organizing Committee announces that unlike previous years this-year application to Wenner-Gren Foundation to get a grant which would help students and scholars with no possibility to cover all expenses connected with their active presence at the Pilsen 2013 EAA Annual Meeting (AM) failed. At the moment its organizers have just limited possibilities to financially help to no more than a few tens of potential applicants from Countries of Central and Eastern Europe (eligible for Eastern Europe membership type): Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine.
The support of 120 Euro – to be paid in cash to successful applicants during their registration procedure at the beginning of the Pilsen 2013 AM – is meant to primarily cover the cost of registration fee and to help a little bit in either travel or meal expenditures. It is fully the decision of the local Organizing Committee about the allocation of the grant from the fund to individual applicants. When considering the applications the Committee will primarily keep the principle that all countries from which the applications come will be given the grants proportionally. For obvious reason the acceptance of grant applications will be stopped at the moment all grants are allocated.
As the organizing committee is still trying to find another possibilities how to financially support a higher number of grant applicants the final decision upon the grant allocations will be done – and announced to the applicants – on Monday, 1st July 2013.
