In the little town of Starý Plzenec (former Old Pilsen) is the 8th century early medieval hill-fort, first mentioned in written sources in 976 AD. Since 10th century it became the Přemyslid governing centre the rotunda church of St Peter and Paul was built here in the second half of 10th century. www.staryplzenec.cz
The second part of this walk is the F. X. Franc educational trail that includes the ruins of Medieval castle Lopata, middle Bronze Age barrow cemetery, remains of deserted medieval villages and gold panning site.
